XLIII Congress in Bolivia: Inclusive education and its challenges (2013)

Year:

2013
Host: Fe y Alegría Bolivia

Objective:

The Board of Directors established as the objective of the XLIII Congress “Inclusive Education and its Challenges”: to share experiences of inclusive education in several fields and socio-cultural contexts and to identify the challenges posed by inclusive education and gather inputs to build a referential framework for action in inclusive education for Fe y Alegría.

Background:

The XXVI Assembly of the International Federation of Fe y Alegría, at its meeting in Bogotá-Colombia in November 2011, after considering several themes for the 2012 International Congress, chose Inclusive Education. The Assembly, in choosing this theme, intended that the XLIII Congress in 2012 would deepen this approach that allows us to be attentive to the multiple ways of exclusion and marginalisation that happen in our societies, ways we must pay attention to in the Movement, as these become challenges for Fe y Alegría to be present in the midst of these diverse frontiers where the “asphalt of opportunities ends”.

The Congress:

The dynamics of the XLIII Congress “Inclusive Education and its Challenges” combined team systematisation, video production of significant experiences about inclusive education with analysis, reflection and dialogue about themselves, so that inputs were identified to elaborate in the next congress, a referential framework of inclusive education in Fe y Alegría.
